Caitlin Duffy, Psychologist at Grounded Psychology Studio, sitting in the therapy room.

Hi, I’m Caitlin

Psychologist, Clinical Psychology Registrar, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician

For over a decade, I have supported people to move beyond food and body concerns, develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves, and reconnect with the things that matter most. I can help you build a life where food, exercise and body image don’t take up more space than they need to.

I have extensive experience working within tertiary mental health and specialist eating disorder services, and I bring a compassionate, evidence-based and collaborative approach to this work, with a focus on practical strategies and sustainable recovery.

No matter what brings you to therapy, whether it's an eating disorder or something else entirely, I want to help you find the tools and confidence to feel more grounded and in control of your own life.

Alongside my clinical work, I have had the privilege of contributing to eating disorder initiatives at local, state and national levels. This has included contributing to the development of the 2023–2033 National Eating Disorders Strategy.

I am also a Psychology Board-approved supervisor and enjoy supporting the growth and development of psychology students, interns and fellow psychologists through clinical supervision.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mum to two wonderful boys, dog mum to my cocker spaniel, Benji, and an avid book reader.

My Approach

As an experienced eating disorder therapist, I’m trained in several specialised, evidence-based approaches. While these frameworks guide my work, I believe meaningful therapy starts with a genuine therapeutic connection.

Eating disorders are complex, and I use therapies that have been specifically developed and researched for these conditions. I tailor the approach to you and what is most likely to help you make meaningful, lasting progress.

My treatment approaches include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Enhanced (CBT-E)

  • Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA)

  • Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Bulimia Nervosa & Binge Eating Disorder (DBT-E)

Eating disorders rarely occur in isolation, which is why I take a holistic approach to treatment. Alongside eating disorder recovery, I frequently work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation.
